Bio
Juliana C. C. Monteiro (Juliana Monteiro) completed the PhD in Digital Media in 2024 by the University of Porto, Faculty of Engineering, and holds a degree in Journalism and Communication Sciences (2006) and a Master degree in Multimedia (2013), both by the University of Porto. She develops research work focused on participatory methods, revolving around the themes of intergenerational storytelling and design thinking for innovation. Juliana is a member of the Research Center in Chemistry of the University of Porto (CIQUP - RG5: Education, Communication of Science and Society) and of the Center for Psychology at University of Porto (CPUP) . She participated in various scientific research projects, focusing her contributions on the themes of citizen science, communication, storytelling and multimedia production. She also developed experience in teaching, encompassing several modules of professional training courses in areas related to webdesign and multimedia production, as well as 4 years of teaching the U.C. Laboratory of Multimedia and Education of the 1st year of the Degree in Educational Sciences of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto. She has published articles in indexed international journals as first author and delivered presentations and lectures in the fields of Citizen Science, Science Communication and Storytelling in national and international congresses and scientific meetings.
Her research interests include Participatory Methods, Citizen Science, Design Thinking, Storytelling and its Social Impact, Social Networks and Affinity Spaces Studies, Cultural identity, Intergenerational Dynamics, Education, Science Communication, Multimedia Content Development.
