Bio

Ana Lima is currently a PhD student at the Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto within the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department. She earned her bachelorꞌs degree in Chemistry in 2015, followed by MSc degree in 2017, all from the University of Porto. During her bachelorꞌs degree, she attended a Scientific Initiation Program, developing research assignments according to a Research Trainee. Following her masterꞌs studies, she was awarded a research grant, undertaking research activities as a Research Fellow till 2019. Subsequently, since 2020, she conducts research integral to her doctoral thesis, titled " Energetics, structure and reactivity of functionalized thiadiazoles”. Ana Lima co-authored scientific articles published in international peer-reviewed journals, and she has also presented her research findings at several national and international scientific conferences. She has actively participated in initiatives promoting scientific dissemination and education, including Open University Days, Science Fairs, and the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Junior University. With a keen focus on Physical Chemistry and Thermodynamics, her research activities span a wide range of topics, including calorimetry, phase transitions, inter- and intramolecular interactions, thermodynamic stability and fluorescence of organic compounds. Her interests also involve developing prediction schemes of energy correlations for homologous molecules.
