EMBO Practical_2018

ARBRE is co-organizing the 3rd edition of the EMBO Practical course Biomolecular interaction analysis: from molecules to cells, that runs every other year in Porto at the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3S). The 2018 edition is taking place from October 29 until November 3. Applications are open until June 20, 2018 at http://meetings.embo.org/event/18-biomolecule

EMBO Practical course Biomolecular interaction analysis: from molecules to cells ARBRE is co-organizing the 3rd edition of the EMBO Practical course Biomolecular interaction analysis: from molecules to cells, that runs every other year in Porto at the Institute for Research and Innovation in Health (i3S). The 2018 edition is taking place from October 29 until November 3. Applications are open until June 20, 2018 at http://meetings.embo.org/event/18-biomolecule This practical course aims at a multidisplinary approach to the study of molecular interactions from and in biological systems, integrating biochemical/biophysical methodologies with live microscopy techniques. The course will cover and include practical sessions on a range of methods used in the kinetics and thermodynamics characterization of binding events, such as: Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC) Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) Microscale Thermophoresis (MST) Biolayer Interferometry (BLI) The bridge to in vivo will be crossed with the introduction of advanced light microscopy techniques for the live cell imaging of protein-protein interactions by: Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) and Fluorescence Cross Correlation Spectroscopy (FCCS) 4 out of the the 5 organizers of this course are active ARBRE-MOBIEU members and with the support from COST there are up to 5 Grants available to cover the registration fee (covering all meals, 6 nights accommodation and all course material). These grants are provided under the rules laid out by the COST vademecum in what concerns the support of training schools.
